Silver Oak Tours was formed in 2013 with a view to developing tours in a number of specialised areas or interest groups. To date many local tours have been conducted, but the first international bowls and social club tour has just been launched. The ‘Lawn Bowls Tour’ is targeted at Lawn Bowls Clubs where bowls members, their partners, family and friends are afforded the opportunity to visit South Africa and experience for themselves the beauty and friendship afforded by their hosts.
Although titled as a ‘Lawn Bowls Tour’, the touring party will spend time ‘in the bush’ during a three day visit to a Big 5 Game Lodge, play Lawn Bowls (for the bowlers in the group) at the world famous The Wanderers Club and an upmarket Club in Cape Town, and visit a number of internationally renowned tourist sites. Apart from the flights to and from the United Kingdom (Heathrow, London) and the two hour flights to and from Cape Town, there are no long trips (transfers via luxury coaches are for short durations). Free time is built in for those wanting to ‘do their own thing’ and escorted 24/7 transport will be provided. South Africa is a vast country and as such, this tour has been put together so that visitors can experience, if not all, then a special part of what our beautiful country has to offer.
